First day of Preschool

This is how Kelson and I both felt about his first day of preschool.  This was before we took him.  We wanted to get the standard first day of school picture in front of the door.  Well - Kelson was NOT having it!  He just wanted to play with the flag that was in front of the house (more about his obsession with flags on the next post).  Needless to say, the morning started off this way, but did get slightly better.
"Yes!"  They are finally letting me go see the flag or "ag" as I like to call it!
Since the front porch picture was unsuccessful, we settled for the fireplace.  Check out his adorable backpack and lunchbox!  eek!

Kelson's "class" has a jungle theme this year.

I'm sorry, but how stinkin cute?!?!

Ready to play!  Little did I know that he would start crying as soon as we left (he NEVER cries when we leave).  I had put a pacifier in his backpack with a note that said for "emergency use only!".  Apparently it was an emergency as they had to give him his pacifier to calm him down.  After about 30 minutes, they said he did great.  He played with all of the kids (3 other boys and 2 girls).  He of course liked playing outside the best!  No surprise there.  He only ate his strawberries (even though I packed SO much food) at lunch.  Towards the end of his preschool day, he was so tired he started laying down on the rug...poor baby.

All in all, it was an OK day for Kelson at preschool.  He is going for 3 hours, 1 day a week, so I know it's not a big deal...but last week was rough.  I cried the whole way home - Doug made fun of me the whole way.  The best part about preschool are his teachers!  One of his teachers is our neighbor and we love her, so that makes it better.  I'm just praying we both hold it together better this week.

Kelson and his teacher, Ms Noel - our neighbor!
