Shelby meeting her big brothers

I think after the birth the thing I was most excited about was to see the boys welcome their new sibling. Kelson was only 22 months old when Parker was born so he didn't really know what was going on.  This time around Kelson was very aware.  He liked to talk to the baby in my tummy and hug on my belly.  Our good friends the Gauntts had their baby girl a few weeks before Shelby and Kelson was very jealous that his BFF Anna Grace already had her lil baby.  He wanted his!  It was pretty cute.

Kelson went to school on Shelby's birthday and then spent a few hours with a good friend before coming up to the hospital.  I wanted to be a little more aware of what was going on when the boys came.  I didn't want to be totally drugged up when they came.  I wanted to remember this moment.

Even though I try to plan everything...I didn't know that once they bathe the baby I needed to do skin to skin for about 2 hours.  Well...the boys came when we were doing skin to skin...oh well.

Kelson came in the room and immediately hopped up in bed to see the baby.  He was pointing out her hands/feet and telling me how cute she was.
Parker was a little bit more stand off ish.  He wanted to look at her but not touch.  This is Parker's personality...he wants to get the lay of the land first before he jumps right in.
Opening their presents from the baby
Parker was excited about his airplane
Kelson looking at her feet.
B/c of the skin to skin the boys didn't get to hold her until the next day.
Time to hold her!!!  He was PUMPED.  He did so great.
Seriously so sweet stroking her face
LOVE this of Parker.  He is holding his hands out...he wanted his turn to hold Baby Shelby
Parker's turn!
Oh sweet boy...don't worry...you are still Mommy's Baby Boy
Shelby - I want you to know that your brothers truly love you.  The first thing Kelson does every morning is kiss on you.  He is always asking about you and always concerned if you have your paci or blanket.  Parker is on paci patrol.  If he sees that you don't have your paci - he brings it to you.  When he sees a picture of you - he says "that's MY baby Shelby".  Your brothers ADORE you.  I know when you get older you might not think that...but they do.
