Updates from this past week

This past Monday, Doug's softball team played in the final games of the tournament. They had to keep winning to make it to the championship game. They played the Coppell Fired Department in the first game, and although they played kind of horrible - they won! So- they played right after that, and won...so...then they played the same team again for the Championship game. They lost by 1 run, but considering they had to play 3 games in a row, not too shabby. As one of the guys said "who would have thought the book club husbands would make it to the championship game?" (Doug's team is a bunch of the husbands of my book club). Kelson and I made it through all 3 hours of the games. He was a champ!

Kelson and Papa

Kelson did great - too bad he projectile spit up all over his onesie. I had been waiting to put him in this onesie ALL day so that he could wear it to his Daddy's games (it says Daddy's All Star). The walk from the car to the fields, he spit up ALL over the place. We decided to stay and he did fine.

This was also a big week in that we started Kelson on 1 feeding a day on a bottle. I was really anxious about him taking it, but he doesn't seem to care between me or the bottle. This way, Doug gets to bond with Kelson and "feel useful" as Doug said. I also get to go to sleep and get a little more sleep! Yay! Last night, I got 4.5 hours!!! HOLY MOLY!

Yesterday was Kelson's 1 month Doctor Appointment. He weighs 10lbs 10oz!!! The doctor said that their "benchmark" is for him to have gained about a pound since his 2 week appointment - well - he gained 1lb and 7oz! He's such a champ!

Kelson has been having issues during the late afternoon/evening with feeding. He WAILS through the whole feeding...and I mean WAILS - poor thing gets all red faced and kicks his feet and arches his back. The pediatrician said that he has all of the symptoms of Reflux disease. While all infants have reflux, Kelson seems to be having alot more burning and spit up. Poor lil guy. We are trying a few different ways of feeding him in hopes that we won't have to put him on medication. Please pray that Kelson improves and his reflux subsides!
