This is a little late...since he's almost 19 months now.
Kelson is 1.5 years old! I cannot believe it. Doug and I were just talking this morning about how quickly time goes. People always told us...you'll blink and they'll be 18 and I believe it! Kelson is really starting to show his little personality more and more these days. Below are a few things that I want to remember about this time in Kelson's life:
*You love flags...if you see red/white/blue - you immediately think it's a flag. You also love to play with all yard flags and typically zone in on flags wherever we go. Your Dad and I are convinced that you have amazing eye sight since you see them long before we do...even if they are hundreds of feet away.
*In order to avoid meltdowns, you have to say "bye bye" to everything. When we get out of the car, you always have to say bye to whatever toy you were playing with. You also like to say bye bye to the dogs ("bye bye ruff ruffs").
*You are in love with your Daddy. If the phone rings, you get upset if it isn't your Dad. You love calling your Dad at work. You often pick up your play phone and start having a conversation with Dadda. Around 4pm, you are waiting for Dadda to come home and when you hear the door open, you smile and say "DADDA!!!"
*You love love love to give kisses and hugs. This is quite possibly one of my favorites. You pat peoples backs when you give hugs and really lean your head on their shoulder. You also give the sweetest kisses.
*You are still a picky eater. You love: cheese, yogurt, oatmeal, any type of fruit, pasta, crackers, chips, guacamole, muffins. That's about it. I have to hide vegetables and meat in the above food. Thanks to Brittany (Anna Grace's Mom), I've been hiding veggies in your muffins. My brothers tell me that this is just payback since I was apparently a picky eater growing up...I plead the 5th.
*You love playing with your friends- Landon, Anna Grace, Annie, Brooklynn Sophia, and your playgroup and school friends. You and Landon are having a hard time learning how to share, so I'm sure we are in for a rough couple of months. You like to chase Anna Grace around Kid Country and of course everything Brooklynn does is awesome.
*You know that Mommy has a baby in her tummy...atleast you like to lift my shirt, pat my belly, and say "baby"...you will also lift your shirt and say baby...so...not sure if you quite get it yet.
*You are getting better and better at talking. You are starting to repeat us even more. Your favorite words are: Dadda, Mama, Ball, Dogs, Ducks, Flag, More, Please, No, Hi, Bye, Cheese, Crackers, Papa, Texas, Thomas, Mower, Snow, Snowman, Santa (aka Ho Ho)...
*We have a pretty good routine down. You love to play in the morning, take a 3 hour nap (which we are still moving later in the day. Right now, you go down between 11-11:45), and then play/run errands in the afternoon...and then Dadda comes home and makes your day. You are sleeping at night from 7:30-7:30. You wake up everyday at 7:30 like clockwork.
*Honestly - lil man - you are such a joy. Your Daddy and I love to sit on the ground with you and just play and watch you do things. You are VERY curious. You love to push your toys around (mower, shopping cart, dump truck). You also love to go up and down stairs...which we luckily have in the house. We can't wait to see you grow in the next few months and become a big brother. We love you so much. Happy 1.5 birthday lil man!!!
Love, Mama and Dadda
These are a few of the 18 month pictures I took a few weeks ago. We of course had to bring his flags along for the shoot. I want to always remember his favorite toy at this age - the American Flag. Papa and KK think it means he's going to be president...might be a biased Grandparent opinion, but it works for me!
Kelson, you are the cutest toddler!! You are growing up SO FAST! I love all of these sweet pictures of you, and your love for flags is precious!! Happy 18 months!!
