Parker is One Month!

Lil late - but Parker was one month on June 20th.  The first month literally flew by!  Since we didn't come home for a few extra days, it seemed to go even faster than normal.  Doug was home for the first 2 weeks and then my Mom was with us every day for the next 2 weeks.  It was AWESOME!  Folks kept asking how we were doing and we were great because we had all of the help.  Our friends have been amazing and have brought us dinner 3 times every week!!!  I haven't cooked dinner once since we've been home!  If you have brought us dinner - THANK YOU!!!

Parker is doing great!  He is such an easy going baby and honestly rarely cries.  He just kind of grunts and snorts.  If he starts crying, then he is REALLY hungry.  Parker is gaining weight like a CHAMP!  At two weeks, he weighed 11 pounds 12oz.  I took him to the doctor at 6 weeks and he was 13 pounds 1oz!!!  (Kelson was 12 pounds at 2 months!).  He is definitely my lil chunker baby and I love it.  I love that there are leg rolls underneath his diaper.  He has fat on the tops of his hands!  For the most part, Parker has two really good awake times and naps throughout the day.  He is learning to nap on the go as we are normally out and about in the morning with Kelson.  Parker likes to snuggle with Doug before he goes to bed.  Parker is also really liking the Moby Wrap.  He just snuggles up and either looks around or falls asleep.  It has been a life saver as I can still get things done and/or play with Kelson while holding Parker.  Parker is sleeping in the pack in play in our room (Kelson is still in the crib).  I don't want to move him upstairs yet, but geez oh petes - Parker is the noisiest sleeper!  He grunts and huffs and puffs all night.  I am constantly checking to see if he is actually awake and he isn't...oh well...atleast he's sleeping.  He normally gives me one 4-5 hour stretch and then makes up for it by cluster feeding from 6am-8am.  We'll get some sleep eventually...

Parker:  We want you to know that you are loved.  The first month of your life was filled with ups and downs.  Your stay in the NICU took a toll on Mom and Dad, but we were also strengthened by the blessing that you are.  The Lord truly put his hands on you and helped you to heal faster than expected.  We know that you are a blessing to our family and we can't wait to see the amazing man of the Lord that you will become.  You love to look at your brother and instantly cheer up when you hear his voice.  We are sorry that he is always shoving your pacifier in your mouth - he is truly trying to help.  :)  We love you our sweet chunky little boy!

Just hanging out in my nursery - or what will be my nursery when big brother gets out of my crib.  For now, you sleep in Mom and Dad's room.
