Ho Ho Ho

The last couple of weeks have been spent doing all sorts of fun Christmas activities.  We have gone to Bass Pro Shops quite a few times as they have the best little "winter wonderland" with free Santa pictures, free carousel rides, free arts and crafts, free race track/monster truck/train tracks - it's all FREE!    My favorite words.  Kelson has had fun driving around to see Christmas Lights.  My favorite is that we've been listening to Christmas Music for a few weeks and it's awesome.  Kelson never asks for his "sing a long" CD's...just wants Christmas Music - Hooray!

Kelson has become quite enamored with Mickey Mouse.  We didn't let Kelson watch TV until he was 2.  Since then, we've really only watched Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...he loves him some Mickey Mouse.  Every night he says "god bless Mickey, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Pluto".  This picture was taken at our church Mom's group Christmas Party.  Kelson was really excited to see a giant Mickey Mouse.  This is him pointing it out to his friends...
The party was a lot of fun complete with our Pastor, Father Henry playing the harmonica for the kids, "Mrs Claus" doing a puppet show, Arts and Crafts, Cookie decorating, and of course Santa.

Both boys were very fascinated with the puppet show.  This is Kelson's ultimate "frat boy" outfit - sweater vest over button up with his cowboy boots.
This was the first time we actually got Kelson to sit on Santa's lap.  Everytime we went to Bass Pro Shops, he refused.  His face CRACKS me up.
Last weekend we went with the whole Shelby Family to breakfast with Santa at Rob's country club.  This is the 3rd year in a row that Doug and I have gone (the first year, Brooklynn was only 7 months old!).  Kelson livened up a bit this time around.
Baby Madie wasn't so pumped about Santa
 Meeting Santa is hard work
 Baby Madie loves Uncle Rob

Cousin Brooklynn and Santa - it's been so fun to see her warm up to Santa over the last 3 years.  She walked right up to him and started telling him what she wants for Christmas
All 4 Grandbabies on Santa's Lap
Best we could do at a family picture.  Please note the snowman balloon animal.  They always have a clown doing balloons for the kids.  Kelson now thinks that every time he sees Santa that he will get a snowman balloon...that's a hard one to explain
Last weekend, we hosted our 6th annual Mueller Family Christmas Party.  I look forward to this party every year as we typically have a great time.  Last year was the tacky sweater year, but a few of the guys Doug works with have decided that every year should be tacky sweater year.

Of course the ping pong table gets converted to a flip cup table later in the night...yep...that's our baby monitor in the middle of the table.  Yes - slightly unstable, but hey - Mama's gotta have some fun too!
Check out the sweater - yep - he went to A&M which expains A LOT
Poor Jason - fell off a truck...
One of the guys Doug works with introduced us to "survivor" flip-cup.  All I can say is - it was awesome.  If your team lost, then you had to vote someone off, but still keep the same # of cups.  It got down to Marissa and I...
We won...check out our friend Kevin in the middle of the picture.  He was one our team and he was proud of Marissa and I
And then there was one...poor girl had to do all 7 cups...she did great and almost won
It's been a great couple of weeks - we have lots of fun things planned this week and next weekend.  I love this time of year.  I love getting together with family and friends - but most of all - I love talking with Kelson about Jesus and his birth.  Kelson loves to play with his Manger Scene (he calls it his "maynore").  It's so cute to see him talking to the Shepherds and Baby Jesus.  We hope you are having a great Christmas Season with your family!
