In June, Doug and I decided to take a lil "staycation" to the Great Wolf Lodge. We have been wanting to try a stay there for a while...but the fact that it is literally 2 miles from our house has deterred us. To be honest - it's kind of expensive...but we drank the Great wolf lodge "juju" and will definitely be going back. The kids LOVED it! I mean loved it! Kelson calls it the "great gulf lodge" and whenever we drive past he always has to ask me when we are going back.
We checked in to our room on Saturday afternoon and Kelson was pretty excited about the bunk beds in his wolf room. (He didn't actually sleep on the top bunk...he chickened out. Not quite ready for the top bunk)
Time to go swimming! I loved that even though it was indoors it wasn't too "steamy". For any other former competitive swimmers you know what I mean. I didn't want it to feel like a natatorium. It definitely wasn't bad.
Big Kid Kelson is READY!
Sunday morning...ready to swim. We were there literally as soon as the doors opened.
Kelson immediately mastered the slides and would go down face first when the lifeguards weren't watching.
You get 4 wristbands with all rooms and since Parker was so young he didn't need one, so my Mom came and joined us on Sunday!
Parker had fun! He would just walk around and play on the stuff that was his size
This is the view of the little kid part - in the background you can see some of the bigger slides. Kelson actually went on some bigger slides all by himself. He was so proud of himself.
We swam for hours on Saturday...and ALL day Sunday...skipped nap. I was holding Parker Sunday afternoon and this is what happened. Sweet boy just couldn't keep his eyes open any longer and literally fell asleep on me in the water. MELT ME
The best part about the Great Wolf Lodge is that you only have to stay one night. You get to start swimming at 1pm on the day you check in and can swim until they close the next day...my kind of deal!
