Lots of things have changed since we had kids. LOTS. One big difference is that Doug and I don't have season tickets to Longhorn Football anymore. When I quit my corporate job, this was one of the first things to go. Kelson went to every home game the year he was born as that was the last year we had season tickets. We've managed to go to at least one home game every year since (thanks to my awesome Dad) and take the kids. We love driving around Austin and pointing out everything to the kids. We love talking to them about college and going to UT. This year we weren't sure if we were going to be able to take all of us to Austin...with a newborn, 2.5 year old, and 4.5 year old. Up until a few weeks before the game it was just going to be Doug and Kelson going to the game. Well...I just couldn't miss out! Plus...Shelby is an awesome baby so we figured lets try it! Luckily we have some incredible friends in Austin who opened up their house to us. We had so much fun hanging at their house (thanks Wills Family!), running Town Lake/Lady Bird Lake, eating at our favorite places and showing the kids campus with a stop at the "big honghorn store" (according to Kelson) aka The Coop.
Dana Wills went with us to run town lake and Janet Scott joined us. I coached gymnastics with these 2 ladies all through college and I would say they were my dear friends (they were in the house party for Doug and I's wedding). Per tradition we stopped our run to go to the Pfluger Bridge (which is named after Janet's Dad) to do a few handstands. The 3 of us made a bet about a decade ago to see who could cartwheel or handstand on the most bridges around the world. I'm not sure who is winning...but it sure is fun to send each other pictures of us being crazy around the world (Poor Doug has photographed me cartwheeling in front of the Eifel Tower, The bridge by The Vatican, in Hawaii, Golden Gate Bridge, Seattle Fisherman's Wharf, etc).

Handstands! Poor Dana literally just had surgery on her hand and definitely shouldn't have been doing this with us!
Game time was at 2:30 - which is possibly the WORST time for kickoff if you are taking 3 kids that nap during that time. Oh well. It was worth the cranky kids the next day.
We also LUCKED out by buying 4 tickets from a friend who wasn't using their tickets. We were on the 30 yard line 10 rows up! WHAT? awesome!
In the stadium ready to go...the boys of course had their "ear muffs" on so that it wasn't too loud.
Here comes the band!
Texas Fight!
Hook Em Horns!
Parker trying to hook his horns
Shelby about to be wrapped up so she could sleep. She slept through the game from the 2nd quarter on...she didn't miss much...we played terrible!
Kelson was bored with the game...we are terrible...
so he created his own game with all of the empty water bottles
yep...this happened. Poor 12 year old next to me...but I wasn't about to go stand in the bathroom to nurse Shelby (3rd kid...I don't care...if she needs to eat, I'm nursing!)
Poor baby. We hadn't even started the car yet and he was OUT.
Family tradition to get the kids picture in front of the Tower. Parker confiscated the slinky dog from the Wills house...
Doug likes this picture b/c it's real life...2 of the 3 kids are losing it
throwing a penny in for luck
Even though the game didn't go our way, we truly had a blast with the kids in Austin. Thanks Wills Family for hosting us!!!
