13 Weeks

This past Sunday marked my start of my 13th week.  The best news about week 13 is that you are supposed to start feeling much better any day now.  I'm still waiting!  :)  I can tell that my nausea has gotten better (I'm atleast able to get out of bed now), but still hasn't gone away.  Keep your fingers crossed that the "magical day" when I wake up and feel better happens any day now!

Not much has been going on in the last week.  I've been traveling for work (San Antonio and Lubbock) which has been interesting.  I got on my flight home last night from Lubbock and the flight attendant let us know that the "lavatory" was non-functional.  Typically this wouldn't be a problem for the average joe, but I'm not average...I immediately let the flight attendant know that even though it is only a 1 hour flight, the non functioning bathroom could be a BIG problem.  He told me it was only an hour and that I should be fine - then I snapped and said - well...I'm pregnant and just drank a gallon of water since I was dehydrated...and...it might be a problem!  Seriously - it should be illegal to fly without a working bathroom!  Anywho - I held it to Dallas and then RAN to the bathroom with all of my bags as soon as we landed.  I'm sure I was a lovely sight...

Doug and I are really looking forward to this weekend.  This weekend marks the anniversary of Roe v Wade and we are attending all of the Dallas Bishop's events marking this sad anniversary.  We are first going to the Teen Lock-in/worship night at St Ann's on Friday.  We are then headed (with the Teens) to the abortion clinic to pray the rosary with thousands of other Catholics and Pro-lifers.  Then we are off to Mass at The Dallas Cathedral with the Bishop.  Then the Bishop is leading a rally and March through Downtown Dallas.  It will end on the steps of the courthouse where Roe v. Wade was originally filed.  I've always been a strong advocate for pro-life and the protecting the MILLIONS of innocent lives that have been lost - but I'm even more so now.  The most shocking to me is the time when women have abortions.  Most happen between 10-12 weeks of pregnancy.  At 10 weeks, our lil bean was already WAVING at us!  I just don't get it.  I hope that our actions on Saturday will convince just one person to change their decision.  Anywho - I'm getting off of my soap box.  However - for those of you in Dallas - if you'd like to attend, let me know and you can come along.  It should be an awesome and moving event.
One more thing - for those of you that don't know much about Roe v Wade.  The defendant "Roe" (Norma McCorvey) actually goes around the country now talking about how she regrets her abortion and the results of her case against the state of Texas.  Interesting that the person responsible for this landmark case is pro-life!
Also - the defined "viability" of a fetus (the point at which an abortion is legal) is defined as 24 weeks.  The following blog is of a baby who was born at 23 weeks and is a living, breathing, healthy baby boy...www.prayforcoy.blogspot.com

Alrighty - sorry about the long and rambling blog.  This is just what's on my mind these days...

As for our lil bean...many are hedging their bets that we are having a boy - what do you think?

The lil bean is the size of a peach this week (fruit again).  My tummy is popping out and is really hard (feels like rock hard abs, only it's not).

I hope everyone has a good rest of the week and a GREAT weekend!
Love,
Erin, Doug, Heisman, Campbell, and the Lil Bean (or peach this week)
