18 week Dr Appt

I would like thank my Mother In Law for reminding me that this blog is for the bean....we had an awesome Dr Appointment last week that I kept forgetting to post about. I am now in the middle of my 19th week, but the sonogram pics and the Dr Appointment were for my 18th week.

We had the sonogram were they measure the development of all of the major organs. Doug and I were both blown away at how much they can see on the sonogram. They measured the circumference of the bean's head. Doug and I both laughed because we were just talking about how the bean will probably have Doug's mis-shapen head...well...IT DOES! The baby's lil head wasn't round, but rather long and oval like...it was funny. The sonogram tech said that all of the organs look good and that the baby looks perfect (DUH!). She also kept saying how cute the bean was (also DUH!). Doug and I are also convinced that the bean is very advanced! The bean already weighs 10oz (at only 18 weeks). Doug is convinced that the bean will be walking by 6 months. The heartrate was at 138bps. Blakley is convinced this means we are having a boy.

Below are the sonogram pictures. It was really hard because the tech needed to look at the sex organs and make sure everything was good "down there" on the baby. Doug and I both had to look away and it was not pleasant. I wanted to know! Oh well - I guess I've made it this far - what's another 21 weeks?

The Lil Bean - is getting bigger everyday! The bean had it's hand up by it's mouth, but was not sucking it's thumb. Doug thinks that the Bean has my nose

In this picture you can see the heart, stomach, kidneys, and spine. Check out how long it's legs are! Doug said the beans legs are already longer than mine! =)

As for Trailer Trash Thursday (this past Thursday) - we had my Dad, Blakley, Rob, and Broolynn Sophia over for dinner. We wanted to try out Doug's new deep fryer that I got him for Valentine's Day (yes - I know - I'm SUPER romantic). We fried up Venison Steaks, Onion Rings, Fried Pickles, and French Fries. We had some salad for good measure. It was a fun night and the deep fryer definitely makes a difference in the quality of the food. The Onion Rings were FANTASTIC! Brooklynn kept trying to eat them, but she was stuck with her Gerber Graduates. Below is a pic of Brooklynn doing a funny face. This face is similar to the kid for Meet the Fockers (If you've seen the movie, you know what I mean!)

This is the face when the kiddo from the movie says a "naughty" word...

Brooklynn is busy texting her boyfriend, Brody!
