Mom and I had a fun filled day of Maternity Clothes shopping on Saturday. We went to Destination Maternity, which is like 3 stores in one. They have Pea in a Pod, Mimi Maternity, and Motherhood Maternity. Motherhood is the cheaper one, so I spent all of my time in that section. I got the "essentials" - a pair of jeans, black pants, nice black knee length shorts, a dress, tank tops to go under shirts, bra, and 2 shirts. Mom also found this tank top that says "It's not easy being queasy", which we of course had to buy. Let's face it - I've been queasy since November, so it's fitting. All in all, it was a successful trip and Mom was a good shopping companion. Doug would have had NO fun! Mom was very patient and very helpful.
Being the curious girl that I am - I ventured over to the Pea in a Pod section - to see how expensive the clothes are...well...I was SHOCKED! Don't get me wrong - I'm a fan of expensive clothes and have been known to indulge in a nice pair of jeans. But - spending $240 on a pair of jeans that have elastic at the top seems kind of strange. I figure my ugly maternity jeans will motivate me to get back in shape ASAP and get back in my expensive regular jeans...anywho...
As for the onesies - Mom and I saw the "nobody puts baby in a corner" and couldn't believe how stinking cute it was. For those of you that don't know - Dirty Dancing is one of my all time favorite movies. I had a HUGE crush on Patrick Swayze growing up. I even learned all of the dance moves to the final dance. I almost bought the onesie "just in case" we have a girl, but it was $25 and I couldn't make myself buy it when I might not have a girl for a long time-and I had spent my wad on maternity clothes. FYI - if I have a girl - please find me a onesie that looks like this! =)
The Christmas onesie was $4 and since Christmas is my favorite time of year, I couldn't resist! Plus - my grandpa Ed always said Ho Ho HO when you walked in to his house during Christmas...so...I bought it for him!
