Spring Break

Over spring break, my Mom and I packed up the kids (and half of the house it seemed) and headed to Leakey, TX to see my Grandpa Earl.  It took us 9 hours to get there, but the drive wasn't near as bad as I was expecting.  We just had to make lots of stops for feedings, diaper changes, HEB stop in Fredericksburg, etc.  My family has been going to the Frio River since the 1950's.  I just love visiting my Grandparents and relaxing by the river.  Grandpa lives on the Frio, so every morning, the kids and I would walk down to the river and throw rocks.  Kelson literally threw rocks in the river for hours....hours...and hours.

I'm ready for the river Mom!

Blowing bubbles with my Grandpa (the boys great-grandpa Earl)
Across the road there are exotic game...
who apparently aren't scared of humans

Reading some old children's books with KK - these were my Grandma's.  It was neat to read them to Kelson...even though some of the old books were named "Little Black Sambo" "Little Black Horse"...you get the picture...they are OLD books.
Family tradition to have our picture taken on the front porch

We headed back to Dallas so that we could be in Dallas for the birth of my brother's son, Tripp...I will post seperately just on his birth...

The 2nd weekend of spring break, Doug's Mom came to visit.  We headed to the zoo and had a blast!  My Mom also came, so the boys were spoiled by both of their grandmas.  I joined the zoo and we've been A LOT in the last month.  We LOVE IT!

Our favorite exhibit - the Giants of the Savannah

excuse the weird angle...but...Kelson is looking at a Tiger and he had to put his Dog right next to him so that he could also see the Tiger
This trip, Kelson was weirdly interested in sitting on all of the animal statues
 Parker all tuckered out

On Saturday, we headed to the park to fly kites
