Animals, Arboretum, Bday Parties, and a half marathon

The last 6 weeks have been jam packed (see spring break post).  We joined the zoo and have enjoyed visiting with our friends in the last couple of weeks.

One Saturday in March - Kelson was invited to 3 birthday parties - yes 3 all in one day...all at the same time.  They were all good friends, so we needed/wanted to go to all 3.  Poor Kelson was exhausted afterwards from all of the running around.  Luckily they were all in Coppell.

We started off the morning at Eric's birthday party.  Eric is Kelson's BFF from school.  Kelson prays for Eric every night.  They are really cute together.  Eric had a dinosaur train themed party complete with a dinosaur dig in the backyard.  This is Eric and Kelson digging for bones.  Please notice that Kelson is holding 2 dinosaurs...

We then headed back to our neighborhood for Kelson's first and best guy friends bday party.  Landon James turned 3!  I cannot believe that.  I remember the very first time we got together and the boys just rolled around on the floor together.  See this post from their first Halloween together.  Seriously though - I cannot imagine our lives without the O's in it.  We love having our weekly dinners together and just hanging out....anywho...I digress.

Landon had a Thomas the Train themed party - complete with a train that drove everyone around the neighborhood.  Landon rode it constantly for over an hour.  He road in every single car.  In the front car is The Blackwells - who just had a baby yesterday.
Kelson, Landon, and Daddy on the train (please notice that Kelson is still holding his dinosaur bones from Eric's party)

Our sweet neighbor Cole and Parker
We then left Landon's party to go to Brooks' 2nd birthday party.  Brooks is my godson and quite possibly one of the cutest kids I've ever seen! Seriously - look at him!  He is such a sweetheart and was having a blast at his cowboy themed birthday party.  Sarah (Brooks' Mommy and my BFF from HS) did an AMAZING job with the party.  It was so fun!

The next day - Sunday March 25 - I ran in the Dallas Rock n Roll Half Marathon.  I ran in this race in 2010 after I had Kelson - see post.  I was looking forward to running as I was running with our friend Mandy Briones from our Church Group.  Mandy and I ran together for the first half of the race...and then I had to go to the bathroom...we met up at the end of the race.  It was a great race and I ran a couple of minutes faster  than the half marathon I did in November.

Kelson cheering me on...cutest sight I've ever seen when running

At the beginning of April - we went to the Dallas Arboretum with some friends.  It was a beautiful day and we had fun at the petting zoo and then having a picnic lunch.
Woody of course made the trip with us.  This is Kelson showing woody the koi pond with Will.
and then the 2 boys started splashing...

and splashing some more...Kelson was a muddy mess when we left but he had a blast.
