Easter Weekend

We had a really great Easter weekend together as a family.  It's rare that I'm not working on a weekend, so we really enjoyed having 3 full days together.  It was pretty great.  Below is the events of our weekend together.

We met up with the Vollmers on Good Friday Morning at the Dallas Zoo.  Their son, Jacob, is about 7 weeks younger than Parker.  It's going to be fun to see them grow up together.

Like father, like son...notice the resemblance?!?
The giraffes must have been full because they were not that interested in eating Kelson's lettuce
Finally one ventured up and took his lettuce
Parker and Jacob were playing footsies together...and Kelson is squirming out of the stroller

Trip to the zoo isn't complete without a little pit stop for lil Parker (Meg took the camera)...
Then on Saturday, we went to watch our niece, Brooklynn play in her first soccer game.  It was pretty hilarious to watch the 4 year olds run around and "play" soccer.  Brooklynn's team kicked the tar out of the other team.  It wasn't due to Brooklynn's mad soccer skills though.  She wasn't a fan of actually kicking the ball.  She does look pretty cute though!

This is her with her BFF, Sydney
After the game, it was time for the cousins to run around together.  Kelson love love loved kicking the ball.  We actually went to Academy after the game and bought our own soccer ball.
 Brooklynn was "coaching" Kelson

Easter Sunday was really fun.  My Mom came over first thing in the morning so that we could all go to church together.  We went to the 8am mass and it was perfect!  I was really worried about Kelson being with us during mass (since he's normally in the nursery), but he did great.  We sat right by the band, so he was very fascinated with the trumpets, drums, guitars, etc.  Parker did great as usual.  We all then came home and got Easter baskets, did an easter egg hung, and ate a yummy breakfast.

How cute is my lil guy?!?  I should have just put empty eggs in Parker's basket, as that's all he cared about.  I'm still finding eggs all over the house...

My boys.  Really wishing I wasn't holding a veggie tales DVD...oh well...
Notice how Parker is putting his head on my shoulder.  This is his new thing...he does this all the time when I'm holding him.  It's pretty great.

Time for the egg hunt outside...I made him wait so that my Mom and I could hide the eggs...
 Here he comes!

 He was concentrating pretty hard...
